Fourteen problems an owner might be carrying. Three are ranked for this month: Marketing is three freelancers and no plan., Quotes go out. Nobody follows up., Pricing hasn't moved since 2022.. The rest are set aside for later.

Business & marketing consulting · Canada and remote

Everything's urgent. Three things get this month.

I'm a business and marketing consultant for owners and founders in Canada and further afield. Each month we pick the three problems worth your time, and then I work on them with you. Retainers start at $1,650 a month in CAD, and the hours are written down.

Sound familiar?

Here's what owners actually say, and where I'd start with each one.

“We're busy all year and the margin never moves.”

First move: A one-page priorities note: five decisions, each with an owner and a date.

“Marketing is three freelancers and no plan.”

First move: A 90-day plan that says who does what, in which order, with what budget.

“I'm the one managing the agency, and I don't know marketing.”

First move: I take the agency meetings, write their briefs and check the work.

“Every salesperson explains us differently.”

First move: Talk to five customers, then write one messaging house for the whole team.

“We launch in eight weeks and there's no plan.”

First move: Choose one segment and two channels, then lay out a 90-day launch calendar.

“The agency says it's going well. Is it?”

First move: Get read-only access to the accounts, then give you a straight answer in writing.

“Leads come in. Then nothing happens.”

First move: Pipeline stages, a follow-up cadence, and a CRM the team actually opens.

“The bank wants a business plan and a cash-flow forecast.”

First move: A lender-ready plan with a 12-month cash-flow forecast built from your numbers.

Three ways to work together monthly. All priced.

Each tier is a fixed price for a capped number of hours. What changes is how involved I get, from a second opinion twice a month to owning the plan and the budget. If the work outgrows your tier, ask before the 25th and you move up from the next billing month.

A few pages from the written audit, showing how a finding is written up, how it's rated, and the action list that closes it out.

Twelve weeks laid out as priorities, each with an owner and a date. It shows what changes in month one and what waits its turn.

What happens after you fill in the form

01

Discovery call

30 minutes by video, free. You talk and I ask questions. There's no pitch.

02

Written proposal

Scope, hours, deliverables, price and start date. It arrives within 3 business days of the call.

03

Month one

I diagnose before changing anything. You get a written read of the situation and the plan for what comes next.

04

Every month after

Calls on a set rhythm, a priorities note, the work itself, and a report with the hours log.

05

The way out

30 days' written notice by email once any initial term is over. Your accounts were in your name from the start.

Before you book

Why are your prices on the website?

So you can hold me to them. The proposal after our call reuses these exact numbers: the same price, the same hours, the same terms. There's no setup fee, and nothing gets added once you've said yes. If the scope changes later, we agree the change in writing before I do the work.

Do I have to sign up for months at a time?

Not for the Sounding Board tier. It's month to month from the start. Working Partner and Fractional CMO have a 3-month initial term, because a 90-day plan needs 90 days to show whether it works. After that, any tier ends with 30 days' written notice by email.

Who isn't this for?

It isn't for anyone who wants someone to post on social media every day or run ad accounts hands-on. It isn't for businesses that need tax, legal or accounting advice either, because I'm not qualified for that. And if you want guaranteed results, I don't sell them and I'd be wary of anyone who does.

I'm not in Canada. Can we still work together?

Yes. Everything is remote. I work Monday to Friday, Eastern Time, and schedule calls in the hours we share. Invoices are in CAD by default, or in USD on request at a rate fixed when we agree the proposal.

How do I pay?

By bank transfer against an invoice. Canadian clients use Interac e-Transfer or EFT, and international clients use a wire. I don't take card payments. Retainers are invoiced in advance, and fixed-price projects are split 50% to book and 50% on delivery.

What's the discovery call actually for?

It's for working out whether I can help and what the first month would look like. If I can't help, I'll say so on the call. If I can, a written proposal follows and you decide in your own time.

Thirty minutes. Bring the list.

I won't pitch you on the call. You tell me what's going on, and if it's a fit, a written proposal with scope, hours and a CAD price follows. I reply to every request within 2 business days.
