A digital marketing audit for small businesses, and a plan to act on it

You're paying for a website, maybe ads, maybe an agency, and you can't tell what's pulling its weight. I go through all of it with read-only access and write down what I find, with the evidence. Then I turn it into 90 days of work in order of priority.

What I look at

There are seven areas, and each one gets a finding, a rating and a recommended next step.

Website and conversion

Whether a visitor can tell what you do, find a price or a next step, and get a form sent on a phone. Whether the forms actually reach someone.

SEO basics

Indexing, page titles, the pages that bring in search traffic and the ones that should but don't.

Google Business Profile

Categories, service area, photos, and how reviews are answered.

Paid ads

Account structure, the search terms you're paying for, whether conversion tracking counts real leads, and what the spend brings back.

Social

Which channels you're on, what gets posted, and whether anyone who might buy is watching.

Email

The list, what gets sent and how often, and whether anything is automated that should be.

Analytics

Whether Google Analytics is set up to measure the things that matter to you, and whether you can trust the numbers in your reports.

What you get at the end

  • A written audit of about 20–30 pages, covering all seven areas.
  • A prioritized action list on one page, so you can see what to do first.
  • A 90-day plan that turns the list into weeks, owners and a rough budget.
  • A 60-minute walkthrough by video, where you can ask anything.

Questions about the marketing audit

Will you tell me if my agency is doing a good job?

I'll tell you what the accounts show, in writing and with the evidence. Some findings will be about work your agency did. I describe what I find rather than grade people, and what you do about it is up to you.

Do you need access to our ad and analytics accounts?

Yes, read-only. That usually means Google Analytics, Search Console, Google Business Profile, your ad accounts and your email platform. You grant the access, and you can remove it the day the audit is delivered.

What happens after the 60-minute walkthrough?

You have the plan, and you can run it yourself, hand it to your agency, or keep me on to help. If you start a Working Partner or Fractional CMO retainer within 30 days, $1,200 comes off the first month.

Can I buy the audit without the 90-day plan?

No, it's one sprint at one price. An audit without a plan is a list of problems, and the plan is what makes it something you can use.

We don't run any paid ads. Is it still worth doing?

Yes. Ads are one area out of seven. Without them, the time goes into your website, search, your Google Business Profile and email instead.
